On Monday, August the 23rd, we started with our workshops at 10.00. Our plan was to get to know each other a little bit better and to remember our names. Firstly we cooled down the atmosphere with a ke katzo, which was pretty fun and we were a little less nervous afterward. Then we started with name games – the first round we told our names and made a sign, the second round we told our name and threw a ball to someone and said his name. We added more and more balls and it was kind of messy but really fun as well.
We loved the next game – we split into two groups, which were separated with a blanket. Each group had to pick someone who sat in front of the blanket. Then the blanket fell and groups had to think of the name of the chosen person from the opposing team. The last game before coffee break was Picasso. We first drew our faces on the piece of paper but there was a twist – we had to put a paper on our face and tried to overline the features. After we had our faces drawn we split into pairs. We then talked to our pair and told them about us and afterwards, he or she pretended that they were us and described us. It was really cool because we heard each others hobbies, likes and dislikes, and other interesting things plus the faces looked really funny.
After the coffee break, we played the winds blow for those who and we got to see which things we have in common. The sun was shining and it was quite hot so we moved inside and we played I loved you but I cannot smile. We were laughing a lot. Then it was time for our next activity which was a bit more serious – we made up our rules and we all agreed to respect them.
We also assigned superheroes of the day – the first ones were us – the Slovenian team, and we had to take care of the rooms, we took pictures of the activities and now we are writing this summary. Then we picked the paper with a random name and the person became our secret friend. We also made a gossip box where we can put little gossips. We hoped they won’t get too dirty. We also put envelopes with our names on the wall and now we can send each other secret messages.
The last activity before lunch was writing our fears, contributions and expectations on post-it notes, which we read out loud. It was nice hearing each other’s opinions, we felt a little more connected, probably because of the same fears, which we decided to conquer. Then it was time for lunch. Yupee!
